Ramadan this year meets the middle of the hot summer, so we need some refreshing cold recipes as desserts after Iftar, so I chose jelly trifle for today, it's a refreshing dessert that contains strawberry jelly, custard, HoHos cakes, and summer fruit, I hope you like it :)
Recipe Tips:
1- I made the jelly and the custard according to the recipe on the packages, it could be different from one product to another so be careful, and you can use your own recipe.
2- After cooking the custard you have to cover it with cling film and let the plastic touch it from the top so it won't have a crust on top, and remove the plastic once you use the custard.
3- Taste the jelly and the custard before adding to the cups, they may need some sugar.
4- You can make the custard later and chill the jelly first before step No. 5 and start making the custard after the jelly is chilled.
Serves: 6 cups
Prep. Time: 15 minutes
Chill Time: 4 to 5 hours
Ingredients:
140 gm strawberry jelly powder (flavored gelatin powder)
3 cups hot bloiled water
1 cup water
4 tbsp custard powder
2 1/2 cup milk
7 tbsp sugar (as you wish for your best taste)
1 cup grapes
2 apples
2 bananas
or any other fruit you may prefer
5 HoHos
Directions:
1- Prepare the jelly by mixing the powdeer with the hot water well and then mix it with the cup of water and add sugar to taste, then set aside.
2- Prepare the custard, mix the custard powder with half a cup of milk then add it to the rest of the milk and stir on medium-high heat till boiled and add sugar to taste, then place it in a bowl and cover with plastic wrap.
3- Slice the bananas and cut the apples into cubes an cut HoHos the way you prefer, then arrange the fruit then HoHos in the cups.
4- Add some jelly to the cups.
5- Add custard and garnish with grape, then chill for 4-5 hours.
