Syrian Bread and Appetizers

Today's Recipe is for a quick bread. Sometimes making bread at home is so heard for some people,  but this Syrian bread is just as easy as making pancakes, it's no yeast bread which you can make in minutes without even using the oven, and believe me it's so yummy, you can make it for the breakfast or cocktail parties or use as appetizers. I used to make that bread for breakfast when I realize that I'm out of bread, and believe on that >> It's really yummy with Philadelphia cream cheese, it's also super with my tuna recipe in here. Let's see the recipe.

Recipe tip:
1- If you are not going to use the bread right away, place it in a plastic bag so it doesn't get tough to eat.
2- You can double the ingredients if you wish to make more.

Serves: 2 loaves
Prep. Time: 2 minutes
Cooking Time: 6 minutes

Ingredients:

1 cup flour
1 cup milk
pinch of salt
20 gm butter

La Vache Qui Rit cheese triangles
Strawberry jam

Directions:

1- Whisk together the flour, pinch of salt and milk till well mixed.

2- Prepare a large pan over medium heat with half the butter.

3- When the pan is heated and the butter is melted use a ladle to add half the batter to the pan and lower the heat to medium low.

4- When the batter dries from the top and you can feel it's easy to flip, flip it (will take minutes).

5- Wait for 2-3 minutes till the bread is ready and place onto a plate, and do the same with the other loaf.

6- Cut 1 loaf into triangles and place one cheese triangle on top of each, anf fold it on the cheese and put a toothpick on it.

7- Cut the other loaf into halfs and wrap each on 3 tbsp of strawberry jam, serve as appetizers, and... Bon Apetit :)

That is pancakes/crepes!

No, it's not. It looks like pancakes or crepes but it's totally different, crepes have eggs, pancakes have eggs, oil, sugar, baking powder, sometimes yogurt and baking soda and other flavors. The ingredients and the taste are totally different!

That's a great way to get people intimated of making homemade bread to give it a shot! And sounds like it would make a great sandwich.

Yes I love sandwiches with this bread, remember to try it with Philadelphia cream cheese or my tuna recipe here
